Show car D-type 1956 Barcelona Fair, then converted into XKSS, Delivered to Jaguar Cars North America, ; John Norcross (Chicago, USA). 98 Sold to Gary Bartlett, USA

The car had never been repaired in any way. Nuts, bolts, hose clamps, tires, trim, hood, paint, bulbs, etc. were just as they were when 728 left the factory in 1957. There were many items that even he had never been able to find out about on other XKSSs. The car is remarkable and certainly the only untouched, original XKSS that we ever seen.

1999 Mille Miglia, 1 OA in class at Hurlingham (1999), 1 OA in class at Parc Bagatelle (1999), Goodwood Cartier Style . (1999), unanimous 1 OA at XK50-Jabbeke, Belgium, Don Perkins award Amelia Island (2000), 1 OA in class and best European car Meadowbrook (2000)

This car was in the inaugural 2012 Windsor Concours of Elegance. It was also on display on the Jaguar stand at the 2015 Holyrood Concours of Elegance. It is now owned by Yorkshire car collector and philanthropist Terry Bramall (sold by Gary Bartlett). There are plenty of copyright photos on google images of both events featuring the car, still completely unrestored and fabulous.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
