Supplied to Hornburg, USA (presumed); sold to Jack Douglas (California); painted yellow & raced from early 1956; June, Texas National Championship races, l0th & 11th; June, Great Salt Lake Trophy 100-mile race, 2nd; October 1957, advertised for $7000 by ex-factory mechanic Joe Thrall on behalf of Jack Douglas: winter, sold to Ray Seher (Reno, Nevada); June 1958, Laguna Seca, 8th; February 1959, sold to Tom Groskritz; 1964 used for quarter-mile runs at San Fernando Raceway; new factory D head fitted; used for SCTA Time Trials at Riverside; Tom Groskritz (Costa Mesa, California, USA).

Came in only 14th primarily due to almost buying the farm in Turn Nine. It has taken more than one of my buddies, BTW.
A new asphalt patch at the apex allowed us to lose traction on our old Engleberts... but they finally caught right in the nick of time.
However, Roberta Yeakel of Yeakel Bros Oldsmobile passed me in her 300. SL

OBTW... we fitted the long-horned stacks onto our triple Webers but that was a mistake as they were for Long courses, e.g., Le Mans.
Phil Van Ek complained to yours truly afterwards that iI wouldn't initially let him by on the straight... Golly it's pretty doggoned wide there, to tell the truth.
Tom Groskritz on the other hand didn't show up for the race until it was over... but just as well as We were having great difficulty shifting left-handed, as we're not.
However, the binders began to fade as we had a leak at the gearbox's gear-pump which supplied boost pressure.
Summation: Driving a solid-axle car is challenging when you're use to IRS, BTW. One has to compensate or you'll not live to see another sunrise....
