Video of XKD527

Torrey Pines Road Races - Jan. 1956

The source of this footage, John McClure, was a member of the San Diego Jr. Chamber of Commerce and sports car fan and driver. His position with the Chamber put him in a position to combine his passions as part of the team that developed the Torrey Pines Race Course. Thankfully, John also carried a camera around with him for races up and down the West Coast

I found a link to a 8mm colour silent film of Torrey Pines 1956 on XK forum at Jag-Lovers and Keith Bertenshaw also added nice links to the results that help in identifying the cars.

The video is here: thechicaneblog.com/

And here's a photo of XKD527 (that won the race!)

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
