XKC034 is mentioned in the below article:
    blog.hemmings.com/index.php/2010/04/19/lost-import-dealership-import-motors-tamp ...

    Text excerpt:
After many other successful business ventures, Jack Sr., [Born Harlo John Sheppard in Davenport, Iowa, in 1892] along with his two sons Jack Jr. and Joe, opened [Jack Sheppard's Import Motors in Tampa, Florida believed to be at 1413 S. Howard Avenue] where they sold and serviced just about any make of foreign car you could imagine. Jaguar, Porsche, Lotus, Austin Healey, MG, VW, Sunbeam, Hillman, Triumph, Saab, Rolls Royce and ones I can’t remember at the moment. It was “the” place on the East Coast to go to see and buy some of the coolest cars on the planet. Besides just selling the cars Sheppard’s became well known for its sports car racing success. In 1953, Jack Sr. purchased a C-Type Jaguar #034 and entered it at Sebring for George Huntoon And Phil Stiles. Shortly after returning from a tour of duty in Korea, his son Joe became interested in racing and asked his Dad to buy a Lotus from Colin Chapman in England. Jack Sr. just picked up the phone and called Chapman and asked if they could buy one of his new race cars. With these low, fast and extremely advanced cars, Joe went on to become one of this country’s best amateur drivers of his time. Joe went on to win numerous races around the country and drove competitively with the likes of Fangio, Hill, Moss, Collins, Berha, Rodriquez Brothers and many others.

A car competing for ownership of VIN XKC034 appears at auction 7/10.

The car has engine G3784-8S. Note; photos of the car/information at this auction are dated 7/30/10

    Auction description:
    The Jaguar Legend
Blenheim Palace, Woodstock, Oxfordshire OX20 1PX, Collectors Film Posters 1.00pm, Sporting Guns 2.30pm, Motor Cars at 3.00pm
    Saturday 17th July 2010
    Lot 350
    Registration Number: EU Registered
    Chassis Number: XKC 034

XKC034 was originally supplied to Hoffman in New York from where it was sold to Jack Shepherd of Tampa, Florida in 1953 and competed in the12 Hours of Sebring. This was the first event of the new FIA sports car World Championship and with George Huntoon and Phil Stiles at the wheel the car finished its first competitive event. In 1954 it was sold to Lorin McMullen of Texas and came 3rd in two races in Fort Worth after which there were several changes of ownership and competition in a number of local events prior to it being sold following a racing accident. It was the C-Types legendary status and all round desirability that Lynx engineering were commissioned by an Italian enthusiast to create an evocation of XKC 034; the original body, chassis plate, wheels and steering wheel (as detailed in Lynx sales invoice agreement which is available and detailed in the catalogue) were purchased from Ali Lugo of Connecticut, USA in early 1980. Finished in 1981, XKC034 has remained in Italy since and is supplied with ASI (Automotoclub Storico Italiano) papers and Italian registration documents. For the last 30 years this car has been campaigned and invited to many historic events throughout Europe and a regular on the classic motoring scene. With the aluminium body work and the green leather race seats showing a fine patina of years of use, this wonderful motor car represents a fantastic opportunity to experience the magic and drama of a Jaguar C Type.

    Estimate: £140000 - £160000

Sorry, the engine number "G3784-8S" is apparently form the second XKC034, not the one with the original chassis shown in the pictures. The latter car has been claimed to have many original parts form XKC034, so it seems that Mr. Ali Lugo sold XKC034 at least twice between 1964 and 1975. Also parts of the body and bonnet have been reported to been used in the rebuild of XKC015.

I purchased XKC-034 from Bill Zorn of Peoria, IL in the fall of 1963. I used parts from this car to assist in the refurbishment of my car, XKC-022. Parts I removed included 7 alloy 54 spoke wire wheels, the spare tire retainer, and the steering pinion. I also swapped out the rear body section, which had less damage than mine. I then sold the car to Mark Daniels of Milwaukee, WI who used it for parts to restore XKC-015. I retained the XKC-034 number plate, mounted on the rear body section. When I purchased this car, the engine was not included. Zorn installed a Corvette engine, which he kept. In order to do this installation, he modified the frame. I have verified the frame modifications still being present on Jaycox's car. Recently, I delivered the number plate to Jaycox. The car was shown at the Saratoga Auto Museum, Saratoga Springs, NY in June, 2012.
