Someone must be confused on the recently added engine picture, that is not a C-Type Jaguar...

You're right, that looks like a Lagonda engine, possibly in an Aston Martin DB3S or DB2 racer.

Mr Father used to own this car. John Undery. If only he'd kept it but he had children and the car had to go!

In edition #212 of Jaguar Magazine it has been shown that #004 was replaced following Duncan Hamilton's Oporto crash, by C-Type #001.

Since 1953 001 was renumbered to 004 by the factory to replace destroyed original 004.

The full details are in the magazine, and a follow up story in edition #213, centred on the original body (existing and unchanged from the firewall back), is due to appear.

There is NO doubt about the fact #001 is alive and well.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
